I’ve been trying to get the PS3 to play videos off the network, so I can use that instead of the server, but there’s no way to browse a network for media files. Turns out you need to stream the video to the PS3 with a media server. After having problems with TVersity, it kept crashing trying to decode and encode the video, I tried Fuppes and it seems to be doing the job so far. There’s still a few files that don’t seem to want to play ball, but I think they just need a little tinkering.
Saves getting up though.
Well the plumber’s been and fixed everything again. We had a very strange tap (like a washing machine outlet) sticking out of our hot water pipe for some reason, which is what flew apart causing a cascade of water (not a resonance cascade thankfully) which soaked the bathroom and everyone in the vicinity in hot water.
Very plesant I’m sure you’ll agree.
Anyway, it’s all OK now, but the sooner we find a better place to live, the better…

So the new telly looks great. We went with a 32″ flat screen in the end, much easier to get up the stairs, I can tell you. Had to get a PS3 to go with it eally. We only got a 720 set in the end, I was looking at 37″ of 1080p greatness originally, but the Sony Bravia was on special offer and we couldn’t resist.
Then we get home to find a pipe in the bathroom has burst and is spewing water all over the bathroom. Fan-bloody-tastic! So now we’re waiting for the landlord to call back so we can sort out a plumber to come and fix it.
Our TV finally gave up the ghost this morning. For the last few weeks it’s been flickering about a bit on the warm up, eventually sorting itself out after a few minutes use, but now it’s refusing to even power on. Bugger.
It does give me an excuse to get a nice hi def set though, although they’re still a little pricey. So much for the budget.
The thing is, is it worth picking up a PS3 while we’re at it. Would be a shame to have a nice new telly with nothing to watch on it…
Is it me or are weekends getting shorter? I mean I know I was working on Saturday and spent the night finishing the wedding DVD for Spike and Kelly, and we went round to present them with it, but it just doesn’t seem like enough.
What we need are more 3 day weekends, or at least give up wednesdays off so we can all have a bit of mid week relaxation too.

I really wonder how the place I work for stays afloat. My system tells me not to support a customer and to contact finance. The finance dept are all on holiday and none of the alternate numbers are being answered. Joy. We can’t even take customers money any more.

Well everything is back to normal again, how soon the weekend is forgotten and the drudgery of everyday life seeps back into our lives.
At least when I woke up this morning I could actually move without causing a massive haemorrhages in me noggin. That was unpleasant on Saturday to say the least.
I suppose we have to say the bills some how, but going to work seems unnecesarily cruel way of doing it.

There’s a reason I don’t drink much any more. That reason was nicely demonstrated on Friday night. Thankfully before becoming a drunken wreck and humiliating myself in front of everyone’s mums and dads I did manage to get this on camera:
The rest of the night is somewhat of a blur, and whilst that is no defence, I can only apologise to those involved. You know who you are. To be honest I haven’t the foggiest, although I’ll be reviewing the rest of the footage at some point this week.
I’m really not looking forward to it.
The rest of the long weekend was spent rather more delicately, taking the bundle up to see friends and family in Cookham. I think, if Toni has any say in the matter, we’ll be moving there as soon as possable. It’s so much more of a quiet life, no hussle bustle of city life, and I must admit I could get used to it too.
I think we could do with a rather large lottery win first of all though.
It’s been one of those days. Nightmare calls and no one really knows what’s going on, so you’re kinda running through honey.
But I’m going home now so it doesn’t matter any more. Tomorrow is a long way away, a whole sleep away.

What a weekend! I’m still knackered from all the running around in the woods, running up streams and shooting people in the face that we did. Managed not to get completely obliterated in the first few games, in fact it wasn’t until the 3rd or fouth game that I got unceremoniously splattered across the visor.
I think the large amounts of drink probably helped us all get to sleep, although I can’t go into too much detal. You never know when there’s a hen about.
