Hmmm, been having a really weird issue.
When entering <p> tags in a textarea, the form submits and opens the page on the root of the domain. Only does it with HTML tags though, plain text and the form works fine.
Oddness.

Turns out the hosts had turned on mod_security, a software firewall to protect the server. Unfortunately it seems to stop pretty much anyone using the host in a meaningful way.
All working now though.
